I am a passionate primary school teacher with 10 years teaching experience. I have experience teaching primary aged children with a broad range of backgrounds and needs, including Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD and English as an additional language. I am confident adapting resources to supporting the needs of my pupils, using a multi -sensory approach where needed. I am up-to-date with the current expectations of the primary school curriculum. I also speak French fluently. I am language lead in my school and I have experience teaching French to pupils from Early Years and tutoring pupils up to GCSE level. I am happy to tutor French to groups of up to 4 pupils.(For each additional pupil a small fee will be charged)
How would you describe your teaching style?
I adapt my teaching style to the pupil I am working with. I use a multi-sensory, active approach and work on building the pupil's confidence as well as academic skill where needed. When teaching language to primary aged children I use games and activities (can include crafts and outdoor activities) to enthuse the pupils and promote speech in French. I can include some of these elements with secondary school aged pupils, but focus on working towards GCSE expectations.
What qualifications do you have?
I have tutored for 15 years and have been a qualified full time primary school teacher for the past 9 years with a specialism in modern foreign languages.
