I know how easy it is to become discouraged when studying Maths. It's a subject in which concepts can be difficult to understand. As soon as children struggle to cope in class, they can quickly fall behind and lose interest and motivation. I love Maths and I love persuading children (and adults) that Maths is fun. But it's only fun when you understand it. That’s where I come in. I am a knowledgeable, professional, reliable and dedicated tutor, but I am very approachable and like to make lessons informal and engaging. My first taster session is free and there is some room for manoeuvre for subsequent sessions. I identify the problems and offer solutions tailored to the individual child. Contact me to find out how I can help your child gain success and satisfaction in Maths.
How would you describe your teaching style?
My teaching style is informal and child-centred. I do use online resources, but also pen and paper. I like to make lessons fun.
What qualifications do you have?
I have A levels in Maths and Further Maths. I had a place to read Maths at university but changed my mind and went on to study Music and Theatre.
Tell us about your experience...
I've been tutoring for a year. I also volunteer for two charities.
What locations do you tutor in?
I'm based near Turnpike Lane, North London, and pupils are welcome to come to me. But I'm also happy to come to pupils anywhere in North London.
What is your personal message to students?
I know how easy it is to become discouraged when studying Maths. It's a subject in which concepts can be difficult to understand. As soon as you struggle to cope in class, you can quickly fall behind and lose interest and motivation. I love Maths and I love persuading people that Maths is fun. But it's only fun when you understand it. That's why extra individual tuition can make such a big difference to Maths at school.
