I love to tutor children (aged 3-16) as it is not only challenging but also extremely rewarding. I believe that good tutoring can have a significant impact on pupils` lives. I am organised, reliable and enthusiastic and I work well individually and in a team. I recognise the importance of having a good sense of humour to establish a rapport with the children and to take a positive approach in establishing good behaviour. (DBS checked). I have 12+ years experience of teaching National Curriculum including 7+, 8+, 11+ entrance exam and GCSE. My lessons involve going through all topics in the exam syllabus, learning the necessary theory and reinforcing the students` understanding through an abundance of questions. Homework will also be exercises which will aid their understanding. As the exam date approaches, I focus on past papers to ensure they are entering their exam as ready as one can be. I have always set the bar high and ensure my students extract the most out of their potential. Reasons to choose me as your tutor: 1. I limit my students to ensure I maintain my teaching quality across all students. 2. I tell you exactly which books are worth purchasing to boost your knowledge and hence save you the time and stress of searching and contemplating. 3. I provide full worked solutions to all questions from the books we will use together so your child can recap the methods taught in our lesson. 4. I have unrivalled patience and can boost my students’ confidence in a subject. 5. I provide honest advice and feedback throughout. 6. I monitor the progress and learning objectives of my students to ensure they are maximising their potential. 7. I have 12+ years experience of teaching national curriculum including 7+, 8+, 11+ and GCSE. 8. I have successfully prepared tens of pupils for entrance exams and got them into the school of their first choice. 9. Two of my students were awarded 100% academic scholarships and are enjoying free education in private schools. 10. I have over 3 years experience of teaching study skills and functional skills in further and higher education. 11. I make an individual plan for each student (based on initial assessment) and work systematically to help them develop lifelong academic and study skills. * I also teach research methods and statistical analysis (STATA).

How would you describe your teaching style?

I recognise the importance of having a good sense of humour to establish a rapport with the children and to take a positive approach in establishing good behaviour. I adapt different methods of teaching depending on the needs and abilities of the child. Parents are made aware of the child progress after every lesson because I believe in learning whilst caring and sharing. Developing students` full potential Every student deserves the chance to reach the full potential of their talents and abilities. There are times, however, when normal school lessons and a large classroom environment are not sufficient to allow this to happen. I identify the student`s current level and the difficulties they are experiencing in the topic we are going to start working on and define the learning objectives for the session so that students have a clear idea of what they need to learn. "...building confidence and removing barriers to understanding" Individual tuition is a very effective way to identify and remedy problem areas, thereby building confidence and removing barriers to learning. Many see tuition primarily as a means to prepare for examinations. It can certainly make a substantial difference to the grades obtained but it can also provide much more confidence. I keep a continuous interaction with the student during the whole lesson through questioning and different activities in order to keep the student engaged whilst I can check if learning is taking place. "...far greater benefit and satisfaction from their school lessons" My lessons involve going through all topics in the exam syllabus, learning the necessary theory and reinforcing the students` understanding through an abundance of questions. Homework will also be exercises which will aid their understanding. As the exam date approaches, I focus on past papers to ensure they are entering their exam as ready as one can be. I have always set the bar high and ensure my students extract the most out of their potential.
