I am a PGCE qualified primary school teacher and Head of English, currently teaching Year Six in Southwark, London. I have previously lead maths in a previous school. Following completion of a law degree, I decided to go into teaching, having thoroughly enjoyed voluntarily teaching English as a second language in Thailand. I thrive on making lessons fun, using high quality resources to provide memorable learning experiences. I believe that the empowerment of pupils, where they identify their next steps in learning and then state the success criteria needed to achieve the outcome, has a huge impact on progress. I am able to support children in achieving their best for SATS or the 11+ entry exams, or just to help them become more confident in maths and English. Having tutored for many years, I have have lots of success stories of helping children to reach their full potential, some with English as an additional language. I make learning fun and tailor it to the needs of the child, ensuring all children, even those disengaged with learning, make excellent progress. I am a Primary school teacher, having taught in four different schools. I have been awarded good and outstanding levels of teaching in multiple age phases. This standard continues to improve as I further my pedagogical knowledge. Being a teacher, I am fully DBS checked. Should you wish to arrange tuition, I would be happy to come and meet to assess current attainment levels - this would be free of charge.
