I am a well qualified Maths Teacher currently employed to teach A level Maths and Further Maths in the classroom. This experience means that I am very familiar with the expectations of the examinations and I am up to date with recent changes to Mathematics. I am educated to MSc level in Mathematics and hold two post graduate qualifications in Teaching. I have Qualified Teacher Status. I have ten years experience teaching Mathematics and have been privately tutoring students for longer. I am a specialist in AS and A level Maths and further maths. I am familiar with all exam boards.

How would you describe your teaching style?

I try to create a friendly, respectful and relaxed environment. I listen carefully to students to get to know them as well as possible - this allows me to adapt my teaching style to each individual. The only way that tutoring can improve a student's results is if extra work is put in on their part, in addition to the tutoring sessions, and I have an expectation that this work will be completed.

What qualifications do you have?

BSc (hons.) Mathematics MSc Mathematical Logic and the foundations of computation PGCE Secondary Mathematics PGDip Teaching

Tell us about your experience...

Five years experience teaching in a secondary school to all ages and levels (11-19) followed by six years working in an FE college where I currently deliver classes to AS and A level Maths and Further maths students. I have experience tutoring students throughout my time as a teacher and as a result I am familiar with all exam boards. I have taught and tutored many students on foundation and Higher GCSE; including people taking the exam for the first time and those who are retaking the exam to try to improve their grades.

What locations do you tutor in?

Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford, York, Manchester

What is your personal message to students?

If you feel that you are struggling with maths or just feel like you need a little help I can assist you by helping you to develop your confidence in the subject. After about four or five sessions most students I tutor feel more confident and this is the foundation needed to improve in terms of attainment.
