I'm looking to expand my tutee base, having had a couple recently head off to university (A*s in Computer Science, I'm a proud tutor!). I work hard to ensure that all sessions are bespoke, building upon 6 years' tutoring and mentoring experience. I have a comprehensive knowledge base from which I construct lessons with SMART objectives, with a drive to maximise value for the tutee. As well as individual sessions, I've previously run full revision days, and sessions with 2+ tutees (with reduced rate per tutee). I have a pragmatic and holistic approach to delivering real learning progression, and I actively avoid 'learning by rote', choosing instead to exploit the rapport with the tutee and myself, to provide real-world contextual understanding, reinforcing topics in a relatable and enjoyable manner. My rates are flexible, and I don't believe that there's a one-size-fits-all rate that I would offer, so let's have a conversation about your requirements.
How would you describe your teaching style?
Dynamic, but structured with key learning outcomes planned for each session. I'm happy to explore multiple levels of abstraction in order that tutees gain a rich, comprehensive understanding of the content, including real-world context.
What qualifications do you have?
MEng Computer Science, A-Levels in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science, with AS in Economics.
Tell us about your experience...
6 years' tutoring experience for all ages from 11 - 21, including GCSEs, A-Levels and some degree-level tutoring.
What locations do you tutor in?
Malvern and Worcester, though anywhere within a 10 mile radius of Malvern I'll be happy to discuss coming to. I also tutor online, saving on travel costs - but whatever works best for the tutee, works best for me.
What is your personal message to students?
I want to get you to the point where you're genuinely passionate, and curiosity has been ignited. I steer the learning outcomes that we will progress through, to the point where you have a deep understanding, helping at later stages of learning, but also in the exam situations where questions aren't how they are in past papers - I want to see you achieve more than you thought possible.
