Fully qualified teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching A Level Chemistry, GCSE Science and KS3 Science including intervention programs and 1-to-1 support sessions. I have experience in a variety of online learning environments and I am able to adapt my practice to individual needs. I have recent GCSE and A Level exam marking experience with AQA and I am able to coach exam skills effectively to maximise student outcomes. I lead a Science department in a large secondary, including design of Chemistry A Level curriculum, and I have deep and wide understanding of Science curriculum requirements at secondary level. I am patient, approachable and focus on individual needs as they arise. Additionally, I have over 3 years of experience teaching secondary beginner Japanese and I guided a small group of students to study for Japanese GCSE. I have a personal passion for languages and I want to share it with my students.
How would you describe your teaching style?
I focus on the student's needs - I diagnose the need and address it accordingly. My teaching style is highly personalised to the learner as I assess what works with the specific student and what doesn't and adapt my approach accordingly. The student and I need to work together as a team to deliver the result and my strength is in being able to inspire the student to work with me by building their confidence in the areas of their initial weakness. I am passionate about the subjects I teach and I take pride in my practical knowledge of exam requirements. I am able to translate these into practical advice for students to allow them to achieve their potential.

Tell us about your experience...
I am a fully qualified and experienced secondary Science teacher. I have over 10 years of experience teaching A Level Chemistry, GCSE Science and KS3 Science including intervention programs and 1-to-1 support sessions. I work with a student to not only improve their grades, but to build their confidence and inspire their interest in the subject. I have lead a department and designed curricula for KS3-5 and build assessment programmes in a large 11-18 secondary school. I have recent GCSE and A Level exam marking experience with AQA (GCSE Chemistry Higher summer 2018, A Level Chemistry summer 2019, I was offered to mark both GCSE and A Level in the later cancelled recent exam sessions). I have over 3 years of experience teaching secondary beginner Japanese and I guided a small group of students to study for Japanese GCSE - this was in a form of lunchtime Japanese Club (voluntary) and formal after school classes (sponsored by The Japan Foundation, London). I currently run a private Japanese Online Club. I have CELTA qualification (Level 4 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and have had some experience teaching English to Polish speakers in 2004-2006 (1 to 1 tutoring). At the same time I also tutored Maths and Chemistry to secondary age students in Poland.
What locations do you tutor in?
Online only at the moment, so any UK area and international if time zones allow.
What is your personal message to students?
Action comes before motivation. Don't wait to feel motivated to start studying - start studying and if you do it right, motivation will come. I can help you along the way.
