Private Tutors in Edinburgh and Tutoring in Edinburgh
Hello! I am a native French speaker and a full-time freelance teacher. I have a Licence ès Lettres (French and Classics) from the Sorbonne, and an Msc and PhD in Classics from the University of Edinburgh. After I graduated for my PhD in 2009, I set up as a private tutor and translator, working one-on-one with school pupils, university students, and adults. I specialise in grammar teaching, exam and translation practice, and conversation practice. I'm familiar with both the English and Scottish curriculum. I teach online, using mostly Skype, but I'm open to other platforms. Please contact me if you have any questions!

Hi, my name is Chenyao. I am a native mandarin Chinese speaker. I have lived the in Edinburgh for the past 10 years. My professional background is in business and international trade. However I love languages and teaching. I started private tutoring in my university days and carried on ever since in my spare time. My clientele for Mandarin Chinese tutoring are mostly adults who have a fond interest in Chinese culture, or a work connection with Chinese market/companies. Although occasionally I do have younger students too. I believe the best way to learn a language is to learn through context. I therefore use a lot of examples in my teaching, and I endeavor to create a lot of opportunities for students to speak during the sessions. Students feel stimulated and fulfilled when they finish a session. Currently I also teach speaking English as a foreign language through a Chinese online platform. I look forward to helping you having fun while learning Mandarin or English as a foreign language.

Muddled Maths is an affliction which Ord is obsessed with helping to cure. Qualifications: B.Arch (Hons); Cert. Ed. He works between two independent schools. Website www.muddledmaths.com explains that he brings to each tutorial ... in addition to his 25 years’ experience ... a unique library of original and imaginative visual material. His slightly unorthodox approach can unlock maths concepts. He prefers to tutor at pupils' homes in West Edinburgh where his one-to-one fee is around £40 per hour but, if pupils of equal ability can be paired up, the rate falls to £26. Charges depend on distance and seasonal demand.
