I am a 20-year-old enthusiastic, experienced tutor studying at Durham University. I am passionate about teaching and I love helping people to understand and develop their own ideas- I find tutoring an extremely rewarding job. I have been tutoring and mentoring students since I was in school; for a year I tutored a GCSE Further Maths student and a GCSE History student whilst studying for my A-levels. I am currently tutoring 12 students, ranging in age from 6-18, in A-Level Maths and PE, GCSE/IGCSE Maths, History, English and PE and Primary English and Maths. Achieving 3 A*s in my A-Levels and straight A*s in my GCSEs means that I know the curriculums very well and know how to answer exam questions. I have found that being a young tutor has its benefits, as being of a closer age to the student enables me to relate to them easily and they often feel less pressured and more open to ask questions to someone of a more similar age. My experience of tutoring has enabled me to adapt to different teaching styles appropriate for different students and find varied delivery methods, as I understand that everyone learns differently.

Hi I'm Amy, I am just completing my A Levels, and looking to save some money up for University. I take PE (AQA), Biology (AQA), Chemistry (Edexcel) and am predicted A*AA. For GCSEs I took all of the above subjects I am offering tutoring in and I received 7A*s, and 3As. I think it is a huge advantage that I have completed my GCSES recently within the last 3 years and that I have just done my A levels as I am therefore up to date and more importantly completely understand what it is like to be a student and all the stress you may be feeling currently!! If I was to describe myself in 3 words it would be; understanding, approachable and determined and I think these 3 skills would equip me to be a great tutor. If you think I could be of help to your son/ daughter I'd love to help you out regardless what age/ level- I had a tutor and I was so so grateful for her, would love to give back what she gave me:) Many thanks, Amy

I am a dedicated , proactive teacher with good humour and great compassion. My teaching career spans across all ages from 5 years to adults and I can honestly say that I enjoy all ages and abilities because my motivation is to meet the learner's need. For some it will be improving basic literacy and numeracy and perhaps developing coping strategies like confidence and self-esteem whilst other learners may lack the discipline or study skills to reach their academic goals. My experience ranges from teaching Primary Curriculum up to 'A' Level and I have years of experience in exam preparation. Most recently I have taught learners with learning, physical and developmental disabilities, behavioural , emotional and communication needs which offers tremendous satisfaction. I continue to keep up to date with effective strategies to support outcomes and remove barriers which may hold up learning. My qualification and knowledge in teaching English as a foreign language will support all English teaching and I am able to adapt the delivery to support EAL learners. Please get in touch to discuss any learning needs or preferences in learning styles you have and we can decide the best way forward.
