I offer oboe and piano lessons. My practical teaching style is reflective, person-centred practice. I have experience teaching and leading in a range of settings, from one-to-one instrument lessons to group coaching, sectional conducting and performance exams preparation sessions. I also offer rehearsal and recital accompaniment. I have worked privately, for a prestigious public school and for the BBC Proms among others. My academic background means that I enjoy teaching the theoretical side of music alongside practical music making - and can help getting the grades for GCSE and A Levels. I have been educated at a UK Top 20 state school, as well as a university consistently ranked No 1 for academic music in the Good University Guide. I am a recent graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire, which is No 1 for higher education graduate employment and has been nominated for a global teaching award. I am confident in my command of the written language, and as such have taken on many freelance proofreading and editing projects. As such I can offer help and advice with academic essay writing and applications. I am an enthusiastic, young tutor and have experience working with people of all ages and abilities. I am personable and patient, with an understanding of additional needs.

Maximise Your Potential with Traditional Tutoring. Based in SW19, I teach near Wimbledon Park on weekends and travel between Wimbledon and Kensington/Mayfair on weekdays or teach on line. I specialise in preparation for top school applications, Common Entrance and Scholarship exams. I have prepared students for 7+, 8+, 11+, 11+ and 13+ pre-tests and exams who were offered places at St. Paul's, Harrow, Eton, Westminster School [The Great School] (Queen's Scholarship) and Winchester College (Scholarship), KCS, Epsom, Dulwich, and University College School (UCS), and many other schools. While my track record speaks for itself, I don't guarantee success, but I do guarantee sound improvement in reasoning, composition, comprehension, and communication skills that will stand students in good stead through their secondary school educational journeys and in challenging situations such as Oxbridge Interviews, should their academic paths take them in that direction. My approach is grounded in a traditionally informed approach to education, inspired by the 'lost tools of learning' of the classical Trivium of Logic, Grammar, and Rhetoric, and by the disciplined exercises that are part of oral storytelling traditions.

I’ve been playing the guitar for 25 years including experience as an orchestra musician on a cruise ship: a challenging gig that requires a good knowledge of many different styles and strong sight reading abilities. I offer structured lessons that take students through folk chords in the first position, barre chords, scales, and from there, along a path dictated by the student’s interests and abilities. This can range from; equipping the student with the skills necessary to write their own songs; a study of the blues rock genre as exemplified by the likes of Eric Clapton; jazz guitar and the art of improvisation. I am a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors and can teach grades 1-8. I also have an enhanced, up to date DBS check enabling me to work with children. Please do get in touch for any further info. I look forward to hearing from you.
