A little extra help goes a long way - As an experienced and highly effective Primary school teacher for the past 27 years, I am seeking to offer my skills and expertise as a private tutor on a more permanent basis. I have taught online and in school throughout the pandemic and I am very aware of the great need for safe, catch-up education at this time. I have successfully tutored for entrance exams and Y6 SATs as well as general primary tuition. Also, being a qualified personal performance coach, has further enabled me to successfully support students in exam preparation and revision too. I am happy to answer any questions or general queries. An introductory session is free of charge with no obligation to continue.

I am a 20-year-old enthusiastic, experienced tutor studying at Durham University. I am passionate about teaching and I love helping people to understand and develop their own ideas- I find tutoring an extremely rewarding job. I have been tutoring and mentoring students since I was in school; for a year I tutored a GCSE Further Maths student and a GCSE History student whilst studying for my A-levels. I am currently tutoring 12 students, ranging in age from 6-18, in A-Level Maths and PE, GCSE/IGCSE Maths, History, English and PE and Primary English and Maths. Achieving 3 A*s in my A-Levels and straight A*s in my GCSEs means that I know the curriculums very well and know how to answer exam questions. I have found that being a young tutor has its benefits, as being of a closer age to the student enables me to relate to them easily and they often feel less pressured and more open to ask questions to someone of a more similar age. My experience of tutoring has enabled me to adapt to different teaching styles appropriate for different students and find varied delivery methods, as I understand that everyone learns differently.

I am a 20-year-old hardworking and enthusiastic tutor, currently doing my Bachelor's degree. I have been tutoring on and off from highschool, and I'm highly dedicated to helping more kids discover their talent in subjects they may struggle in. From experience, I understand that the smaller age gap also makes me more approachable for them to ask questions, making the task of teaching not only easier but efficient. The more questions they ask, the more I can help them understand. This improved communication has taught me how to explain things to them in a way that's easy for them to understand. Each child is special and has a different way of learning that suits them best. all in all, I'm extremely passionate about furthering my experience in teaching them.

Having qualified as a Primary School Teacher in 2011, I have experiencing of teaching across both Key Stage 1 and 2 and preparing students for SATS, 11+ and entrance exams. I believe in making learning fun and relatable to each individual and in turn memorable. I am confident teaching any area of the primary curriculum with a particular specialism in maths. I’m also passionate about using technology to enhance the teaching and learning process and if possible would place this at the heart of my teaching. Prior to the tutoring commencing, I believe it is important to talk with the child to find out what makes them tick and from there develop a way of learning that suits them and enables us to achieve the best outcomes. I’m happy to travel and find a time that suits both parties but most importantly find a time where that suits the individual.

I know that engaging a tutor can be nerve-wracking. From embarking on a search, to the first session, to exam dates, it can be a fraught experience. But I have the experience and the sensitivity to make this experience smooth, engaging and even enjoyable. I have a wealth of experience, tutoring for almost 5 years, since leaving Cambridge University with a degree in History of Art. My greatest skill lies in being able to put both students and parents at ease, through a combination of engaging activities, pitched at a comfortably challenging level, and delivered with confidence. This is partly helped by the fact that I act and direct alongside my tutoring. I can transform your framework of learning to make objectives manageable and tailored, and to find ways of helping you shape and realise your own ambitions. Using a combination of tested methods of increasing engagement and a constant process of adapting my style to each student, I have achieved remarkable successes with my students. This success includes academic achievements, but I am most proud of the consistency with which I have fostered passion and confidence in the subjects we study together. I love new people, new perspectives and new ways of working, and I look forward to meeting you!

Having achieved A*A*AA in my A-Levels (including 98% in Mathematics, and the top 1% in the country for Economics) and subsequently graduated with a First Class in BSc Mathematics and Economics from the London School of Economics, I understand exactly what it takes to achieve the very top marks in exams. I have been tutoring online for 4 years now, and this has allowed me to understand the difficulties that students often face in being successful at exams. What most teachers and even tutors fail to recognise is that the probability of excelling in exams is greatly increased with very specific training and systematic approaches, approaches that most people lack the discipline and know-how to execute. I have time and time again been successful at imparting these approaches and strong subject knowledge to my students, who go on to achieve the very highest marks in their exams (92% A*-A rate across GCSE and A-Level) Free first lesson!

I graduated from the University of Aberdeen and have a Master’s degree in Finance and Economics (Master of Money and Finance) from the University of Frankfurt am Main in 2013. Since then, I have been teaching Economics, Mathematics and Physics for different levels up to A-Level/IB and Economics and Finance at University level, too. The material can be taught in English, Russian and partly in German. I started giving in-person lessons in 2007 and online private lessons in 2009, while in the university. I used to teach my friends overseas who could not understand the subject properly. I continued after graduation. As of 2019, I have over 10 years of online teaching experience both individually and in mini groups. My students mostly come from 5 European countries (UK, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland and Russia), 97% of them have successfully achieved their goals of passing the exams such as GCSE, IB, A-Level, German Abitur and University level, and 100% have significantly improved their knowledge

I am a fully qualified maths teacher with twenty years tutoring experience. I have taught and tutored maths for students in secondary schools (private, boarding and state), including Key Stage 3, GCSE and AS/A Level from year 6 up to A2 (year 13). I have encountered a wide range of feelings, experiences, common pitfalls, habits and barriers to learning maths. Sparking students’ interest and getting them absorbed in a maths question can be a great way to make them forget about any extraneous anxieties. The boost when students feel secure in using maths processes rigorously is hugely empowering.
