I am capable of teaching in a range of styles, however I prefer (and recommend) teaching a more in depth understanding of the material taught on the course. I have always had an interest for the more abstract areas of mathematics and physics, and find the focus in schools all too often fails to capture the significance and intuitiveness of the materials taught. Though it saves time in school not to explore the materials this way, this understanding is key in students who gain the highest grades - think how more effortless it is looking down at the landscape from above, than finding your way through the ideas at ground level. It's a little extra work, but having a perspective of course topics in a more advanced context lessens reliance on memorisation. In reality, practice and hard work from the tutee is always necessary - working through problems is indispensable with or without supervision. To this end, most of my tutor sessions structure around worked examples, but rapidly segue into deeper concepts as they arise; having the tutees explain their understanding of specific problems is an efficient way to pinpoint areas that need deep, encouraged thought on the part of the student.

Hello I am looking to tutor students of all abilities. I have tutored many students over the past 3 years who are now are universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, Birmingham, and Harvard. I went to Loughborough Grammar School and achieved all A stars in my 5 A levels as well as an A star in EPQ, having already achieved 11 A stars at GCSE and IGCSE as well as accepting both an academic and music scholarship. I have achieved diplomas in classical guitar, singing, and piano (with distinctions in all 3) and have performed at the BBC Proms three times (being one of the youngest people ever to do so). After receiving numerous unconditional offers from Russell Group universities, I am now studying at the University of Birmingham. I self-taught some extra GCSEs, such as Computing to Grade A star, as well as creative writing A level. I set homework at the end of every lesson and will mark it in my own time. I will always go through it with my students in the next lesson and will provide very detailed feedback. I also offer my own revision packs which are full of lots of revision notes, exam technique, questions, and answers. Perhaps you know someone who needs just that little bit of extra help over the summer in order to achieve the grades they need for their exams or even to fulfil their university requirements? Or maybe you need some help for entrance exams at private secondary schools (just recently, I have prepared students for their successful entrance exams into Eton College)? Maybe you want to learn a new musical instrument or further your instrument on to a higher standard? I'm a student myself so I know what motivates people of my age and how they will be able to achieve the best results that they possible can. Please don't hesitate to contact me. I'd love to speak with you to find out what I can do to help. Happy studying!

I have been enthusiastic about science from a young age and thoroughly enjoyed studying the subject throughout school, I found that this was helped enormously by the quality and style of teachers I had. I endeavour to provide a friendly and were possible, a fun approach to learning science. I create a personalised learning programme for each individual student as well as work closely with both the student and parents in setting goals. After completing my A-Levels, I went on to study a Masters Degree in Forensic Science, which extensively covered both Biology & Chemistry topics. I then entered secondary school teaching, where I gained experience teaching all three sciences at Key Stage 3 & 4. I now work as a Private Science Tutor, as well as presenting Mad Science after school clubs across the North West (UK) in Primary Schools (Key Stage 1 & 2).
