Good teaching can help change the lives and education of young people, and I feel motivated to make a similarly positive impact on potential students. I also teach piano to beginners and intermediates. I play many different genres of music, which makes it possible for me to tailor lessons around your interests and preferred taste.

I am a friendly and enthusiastic piano teacher with more than 30 years experience teaching children ages 6 years and up. Since moving to the UK from the Philippines (my birthplace) in 2008 and starting my private tuition business in Keynsham I have also included teaching adults (both beginners and advanced levels). I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from my Alma Mater, St. Scholastica's College in Manila, Philippines and a Post Graduate Diploma in Music Education from the University of Regina, Regina Saskatchewan, Canada. Since I am classically trained my teaching method is quite traditional. I use method books gearing towards classical music but include popular tunes (film, broadway, light pop) in my repertoire. I prepare students for piano exams (ABRSM) with a 100% pass mark. I believe Music is the language of the soul and a gift from God that should be nurtured.

The lessons will be based on topics chosen by the student and carefully studied in order to improve skills, knowledge and awareness in the most efficient way. If you have specific aims i will be able to guide you to reach that result. The first lesson will be an informal meet and greet / chat over a coffee discussing the objectives and plans of work. This occasion will be nice to create a sort of understanding between the two and will let the work be efficient in the more formal context of the lessons.

I am a graduate of Japanese from the University of London, and current student of Music Production at Newcastle College. I have lived in Japan for over 18 months. I learned French throughout my school life, and have spent a few months in France. I have studied music theory, and have been playing piano for over 18 years. I favour a laid-back approach, letting the student decide how much they want to learn and the direction in which they wish to take their lessons. Group lessons in languages are preferable, as I find it gives students more incentive and inspiration.
