I have published eight books and have had my pictures exhibited in a number of galleries. For six years I have worked in education and have seen the excitement drained from both English and Art. I want to help restore this and, by so doing, make the student more confident and more lkely to succeed.

When Paul earned his 2:1 Honours degree from Sheffield University back in 1979 he’d already been appointed as the UK's youngest lecturer in English. He was 22 and a qualified secondary schoolmaster. At 25 he then became the country’s youngest assistant examiner in English. That was over 40 years ago. Since then he's always earned his living from the language. An educator in the UK and Switzerland he taught royal children and those of the super‐rich. But for the last 30 years he’s been a writer (for several governments and many of the biggest companies in the world) and private tutor. As a lecturer Paul was always driven by exam board marking schemes. In a department of 30 staff, with the poorest students because he was the newcomer, he still entered every student for exams and cheekily signed off their sponsorship. Despite the odds he easily had the highest success‐rate. He trains students to pass but simultaneously coaches them in skills to last a lifetime. No private students, and there have been scores of them, has ever failed any exam for which Paul’s prepared them. Paul has recently written materials spanning the Pearson Edexcel A Level History of Art syllabus.

I am a highly motivated & approachable person. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and aim to achieve the highest possible standards. I would see where my student is at with their art practice and define areas that need specialist tuition and support. I have a good knowledge in the history of Art therefore I would ensure my students are well equipped. Projects can be already set or can be devised around what we have defined together as your targets. I would ensure that my student has fun but ultimately will grow in knowledge, skill & confidence.

I am an artist, a UK qualified teacher, and a Spanish qualified teacher. I have two years of teaching experience in spanish secondary schools, and as a private tutor in the UK. I graduated in Fine Arts by the University of Barcelona, I have a Master in Archaeology, and a postgraduate in Graphics. The methodology that I use as a teacher consists in allowing the children and youths to reach their own conclusions and construct their own knowledge. To do so, I give them some guidelines and activities to awake their interest and develop their skills.

I am an enthusiastic and committed private tutor. I have assisted many students in gaining a far greater understanding and enjoyment of learning. I have also helped students to achieve outstanding results in their examinations at GCSE and A-level. Several of my former students have gained entry to Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol and Sussex universities as a direct result of my tuition.
