Very experienced tutor with 10 years + track record. I have over 30 years experience of using all the subjects I teach in the real world and I can provide a great deal of additional background information which others can't. "Anything you can do, I can learn to do" is my motto. I also provide comprehensive notes to go with the sessions as well as "homework" where applicable. As long as you put in the effort I can guarantee success.

I'm a highly qualified, 'hands-on' tutor specialising in Geography, History, Politics, English and Spanish with ten years extensive experience at home and abroad (Central America). I’m also a published academic writer (notes for exam specifications), freelance writer (politics/sociology of religion) and novelist. My lessons are dynamic, engaging and never - yes, never - dull and boring; I just can't teach that way. Remember! It’s not school and I’m not your teacher; the learning experience is at its most effective when both tutor and student are engaged in the subject and, dare I say it, even enjoying it!

My name is Olivia and my main background is in history and archaeology. I have a Masters degree from Cambridge University in Medieval Archaeology and a BA Honours degree from Queen’s University, Belfast in Archaeology. Though history is my primary subject, I have a keen interest in English language and literature and am in the process of writing a young adult fiction novel. I am happy to tutor most humanity subjects, if given enough warning so I can ensure I am up-to-date with relevant syllabus content and am happy to teach at any pace required from the student. I believe learning should be engaging and stimulating so I try to adapt my technique to best suit the student’s learning style. I pride myself on being a bubbly and enthusiastic teacher and maintain a calm and enjoyable atmosphere as I know school, college and university can be stressful enough as it is and I do not want external tutoring sessions to end up a chore! In this way I seek to help, teach and reinforce ideas learned within formal education.
