Tuition is available across the full range of scientific subjects as well as maths and statistics. All ages and abilities are catered for, from primary to adult learners. The approach to tutoring is to foster a relaxed atmosphere where the student feels that they can be open and honest about their difficulties. Lessons are tailored to suit the individual learning preferences and pace of the student, and to make best use of their strengths. Tuition focuses on the curriculum as defined by the relevant exam board where appropriate.

I tutor children largely through Year 5 and first term of Year 6 to prepare them for the Reading Boys and Kendrick Grammar Schools. I also prepare for Bluecoat, The Abbey, Leighton Park, The Oratory and Queen Anne's. Apart from motivating, guiding, teaching exam techniques and working in partnership with parents, I try and instill self belief and confidence in the child. Each child is different and has individual needs – the majority of lessons are 1 to 1 but some can be in groups of 2 if that works for you. Regular mock exams hosted throughout the year.

I like to plan to go through the curriculum of the subject. I pre plan lessons according to what the child would like to cover most, for example if they are still struggling on a certain topic and would like to go over it again, I am more than happy to do that in the following lesson. I like to create work sheets, definition pages and sample text/exam question enabling them with extra help. I often do end of term/ topic tests to ensure that your child is completely happy and fully understand that particular topic.
