I taught maths in secondary schools for several years and have tutored, face-to-face as well as online, for even longer. I have tutored KS3, 13+ entrance students as well as professional entry students. I have marked for two examination boards at GCSE, KS3 and A level, and have a good knowledge of the different syllabuses at GCSE level as well as the international iGCSE. This enables me to guide students to maximise their marks and improve on their mock GCSE grades. My tutorials reflect the needs of the student so every tutorial is different. Learning 'the tools of the trade' is important and younger students tend to spend much of their time doing this, reinforcing whatever they are learning or struggling with in school. As a student nears year 11, I like to use questions from past papers as examples, so that students become relaxed with the format of questions and can recognise clues in the questions which will help them gain marks even if they can't complete everything perfectly. I don't expect students to love maths as much as I do, but I aim to make the process of learning enjoyable and painless!

Hi, Having achieved a BEd and MEd in Primary Education, I have taught for 10 years. Alongside teaching in the classroom, I have enjoyed seeing pupils make further progress on a 1:1 basis through private tutoring. I always have high expectations of those I teach and tailor each session to meet the needs of the individual. Lessons are fun and interactive to enable pupils to be motivated and keen to learn more. I am also more than happy to provide pupils with extra work to complete outside of lessons so enable them to consolidate new ideas taught. Prior to our sessions, I always like to offer a free assessment lesson to enable me to gain an greater understanding of the strengths and areas for development for your child, as well as any likes and dislikes. I then use this, alongside a discussions with parents, to plan work accordingly. I look forward to hopefully hearing from you soon so that we can work as a team to ensure that your child reaches their full potential.

My name is Miqueas, and I am a graduate of Oxford University in French & Philosophy. I have extensive experience mentoring sixth form students through their Oxbridge applications, and have spent six weeks providing tutorial-style feedback sessions for undergraduate students attending a summer exchange programme over the summer of 2022. My specialisms include philosophy and humanities degrees in linguistic & cultural studies; I have successfully mentored students through the admissions process for French and Spanish (language & literature), English literature, and Oriental Studies (Chinese). Other educational roles I have had include 20+ hours of experience teaching EFL to students aged 4-10, 10+ hours tutoring GCSE French and Spanish students, a six month volunteer placement as a teaching assistant in a primary school, and a year volunteering with charities holding music classes for individuals with multiple and profound disabilities. I am keenly aware of the fact that each individual student has different educational needs in order to thrive academically, and I am committed to creating an encouraging and engaging environment for them to do so. I have a 'no stupid questions' policy - young people in education should feel encouraged to experiment and find their strengths and weaknesses without feeling limited, which in turn opens the door to significant improvement in their work. I encourage students to develop an effective and healthy ability to self-evaluate, and to develop the tools to improve. I am also sensitive to the effects of neurodivergence and mental health issues on students’ educational needs, and I am very happy to tailor my tutoring to this to ensure that they get the most out of their tutoring. Thank you for reading; I am always available for you to get in touch if you are seeking advice or guidance on your journey through the Oxbridge admissions process.

My name is Susanne. A native speaker of accent-free German, I have been teaching German, English and French for more than 25 years, both to children and adults. Thanks to my duties as a personnel manager at an international company, I am fluent in English and French. My background includes the First State Examination for grammar school teachers and a PhD from the University of Bonn, Germany, in languages. I love teaching students from all over the world and witnessing their progress. I am aware of the fact that the attention span of most of us is limited to about 20 minutes. Therefore, "ringing the changes" is key! My courses cover a range of activities, such as conversations, vocabulary and idioms, grammar, reading and listening exercises. My courses have been well received by students as informative, interesting and well prepared. I attach high importance to being a discreet and respectful tutor.
