Hi! I am a second-year student studying at the University of Leicester studying Software Engineering. I have completed A-Levels in Biology, Maths, EPQ and Computer Science and hold 11 GCSEs including Further Maths. I spent the summer of 2018 working as a councillor and lifeguard at a summer camp in America. This has given me a lot of experience working around younger people and taught me useful ways of having fun and leading them. I hold an enhanced DBS check and have worked as a lifeguard for over two years. This work requires me to be very responsible and pay attention to detail; something which I think is important when dealing with a child’s education. Having recently used tutors for my own studies I have the ability to build off of my experiences and help your child reach their potential in modern ways for their modern curriculum.

I read French and Spanish at the University of Cambridge (St John's College) and graduated in 2018. I did French A level and got an A*. I lived in Paris for about nine months for my year abroad and studied at the prestigious École Normale Supérieure. I started Spanish the year before I went to Cambridge and did it ab initio at Cambridge. In addition to having studied Spanish as part of my degree, I also hold the C1 qualification based on a course I completed at the Cambridge Language Centre. I have tutored French and Spanish for a year a half for different organisations and have an excellent track record. I have helped one GCSE Spanish student improve from a 4 to a 9 in less than a year. I have helped prepare a successful candidate for a Modern Languages interview at Christ Church, Oxford. I am currently preparing a student for a French entrance exam at Winchester College and I am teaching a Cambridge graduate who has dealings with Africa as part of his work. I teach in quite a rigorous way, helping students to improve their grades. I am patient, kind and supportive.

As an experienced primary teacher of 22 years (a headteacher for 9 of these), I have returned to working more directly with students in my semi-retirement as teaching has always been my main passion. I offer tailored tuition in all subjects in the primary curriculum, specialising in securing good understanding of basic skills in English and Maths for students from 5 to 14. I aim to enthuse and engage students in their own learning. I can also work with schools and class teachers if preferred to ensure continuity. My expertise includes phonics, reading / reading comprehension, spelling and writing. For those who need more support, I offer adapted teaching methods to ensure progress. In Maths, I offer tuition in all aspects including problem solving. I can adapt my approach and techniques to those who need more visual or practical methods or to those who need to consolidate their learning using technology. My success rate in enabling students to reach their potential by expanding and applying their skills and knowledge across the curriculum and in preparing for national tests (SATs) is excellent. I offer 11+ tuition and so far all my students (100%) have achieved a good pass in tests.

Please note: Due to the ongoing situation with the CV-19 I will be moving all of my lessons online. So, at this moment please only request tuition if you would like online tuition. For full information please follow my link! :) Hello! A brief background: I have been teaching for nine years. I have experience in several subject areas - with different age groups: from primary school children and pre-schoolers to degree level students and adult learners. I specialise in sciences and psychology and sociology, and I have achieved a high success rate with all of my students, with most of them achieving a B grade or more, never having one achieve below a C grade. I use a huge range of resources which accommodate a wide variety of learning styles and methods. I give my students 100% at all times. I maintain the ability to adapt my lessons to each student and I enjoy the challenge of improving grades and tackling difficult topics. I would like to ask all potential students to read my profile fully before sending a request. *Notes: 1. First Tutors only allows me to post 4 qualifications at a time, so there are more (GCSES and other Alevels etc). 2. First Tutors has a service charge that they outline when you sign up; owing to the fact that I receive requests from people who are not willing to pay it / are not seemingly aware of it, I will no longer be responding to requests where the student is not willing to pay it as it is an admin fee from the website (please read carefully when signing up). 3. I will not respond to requests from students who are under 18. I would rather deal with the parent / guardian. This is due to a lot of requests coming from children of 15/16 recently, which usually end up resulting in misunderstandings or the child agreeing to something they don’t understand. Most of the time these end up not going anywhere and it results in me wasting a lot of time with the potential client. Thank you for your understanding. I currently have availability on Sundays and Saturdays, as well as weekday mornings. Please contact me for more information.
