German Tutors in Haringey and German Tutoring in Haringey
I am experienced at working with children and young people in both formal and informal settings; I currently speak six languages. I have worked as a professional linguist for over 20 years and I am passionate about children succeeding and adults learning foreign languages. Throughout the years I have taught at all levels and believe the learning experience should be fun but productive. I always remain learner focussed and never lose sight of the individual needs of each of my students ensuring that they see constant progress in their language acquisition. I have a BA Joint Honours degree and a post-graduate diploma in Translation and Conference Interpreting and I have translated and interpreted both abroad and in the UK for over 15 years. I have successfully taught French to groups of business people in a professional environment as well as university students and primary school children. Working to GCSE and A-level standard I tailor all my lessons to the individual so that they can achieve the best of their potential and I encourage interactive lessons with all my pupils .

Hello, due to the recent Corona outbreak, I have been furloughed from position in an international boarding school- ages 14 to 18. Whilst working, I have been studying for a PhD in Philosophy from King's College, London since 2018. I am on the DBS constant update service and have been self-isolating now for 2 weeks. I am able to provide tutoring in all of the above subjects for a very low-fee (£10 per hour). We can do this over skype/zoom or in person, distance permitting, and whether you feel comfortable with this given social distancing measures.

My degree was in German and French and I have taught German in adult education, as well as ESL and EFL. For the past 19 years I have been a private tutor of German and French and have up to date knowledge of syllabus requirements of all examination boards and a vast number of past papers. Creating a very good relationship with a pupil is very important to me and I still remain in contact with some past families. Whilst focussing on examination preparation where appropriate I also aim to ensure that language learning is enjoyable.

I encourage a strong rapport and an adaptable, flexible approach to help students engage with subject matter on their own terms while also being pushed and challenged. Particularly as an undergraduate tutor at both King's College and University College London, this entailed various individual requirements (e.g. non-native speakers of English, post-A-level vs "ab initio" students) to which I was required to remain constantly alert to ensure full student participation, for which I was rewarded with 90%+ positive feedback in end-of-year student evaluations. Having worked with a wide range of students from 11+ to upper secondary and university levels, I am confident in working together with students and parents to ensure both examination success and an enduring fondness for learning.
