History Tutors in Hampshire and History Tutoring in Hampshire
I studied Philosophy & History at Southampton University and qualified with first class honours whilst competing around the world for the British Sailing Team. Balancing the two forced me to create innovative ways to use my study time most efficiently. I now run a successful social media marketing business which in the last year has spent £15,000 on Facebook adverts. I run workshops for local businesses on Instagram marketing. For over 10 years I have enjoyed teaching dinghy sailors of all abilities to numerous successes. As a professional marketer I can't understand why most teachers don't use psychology to make their teaching more effective and engaging. Getting a student engaged in their subject is most of the battle and it's always possible. But what makes learning engaging depends on the student's personality & learning type. Together we will quickly discover this and formulate a way of teaching and a plan of action that will teach the subject in the most effective way. I will teach every student study skills that are personalised to them and make clever use of their time. Due to the nature of my job I am relatively flexible but as I am in high demand I can only teach a total of 10 hours a week.

Hello, I am a fully qualified teacher and tutor. I have been working, both in the classroom and as a tutor, for nearly 10 years. I strongly believe that every single child has the right to an education. I know that how they receive that education can have a huge impact on their self belief. I know that 1-1 tutoring or in small groups, can really help boost a child’s confidence. The school environment isn’t always right for every child so I can also support those children who homeschool. I have a particular interest in helping children with maths- and I am hoping, in the near future, to begin training to be a Dyscalculia specialist teacher. Meanwhile, I am studying the subject and I am learning how to better support children in Maths.

I have been working as a Prep school teacher from 2013. Some of my new innovative ideas added value to the learning process of the children: Y4 were learning about a village in India so I organised an interactive SKYPE session with a village school in India to enrich their learning outside the classroom. The children were thrilled by this experience where they could get answers to many of their questions. I also organised Interhouse Geography quiz competition, Interschool Geography quiz competition to enrich the children’s enthusiasm for the subject. Geography in News lunch time club to create a weekly message board helped the children to update themselves with the current affairs and other interesting Geography facts. Bought EDINA Digi maps for school to introduce Digi map skills for the children at KS2. In addition to my teaching duties, I would be able to fulfil extracurricular expectations also. In recent years I have contributed to the school website, have helped develop enrichment policies, and organised an international Evening along with the Head boy team to support the diversity at the school. I would also like to add to the extracurricular activities by running new initiatives or assisting existing societies.
