I am an experienced science tutor with a medical background, teaching biology, chemistry and physics at GCSE. I am passionate about science and love inspiring my students to get excited about the subject. I share my enthusiasm with my students so they become motivated to work hard and do well because they enjoy what they’re studying. As well as teaching my students science, I aim to teach them how to approach learning in a way that they enjoy and can get the most out of. I am proud to say that all my students to date have achieved top grades, with most going on to study at least one science A Level.

I am a second year Chemistry Student at the university of York. For A levels I achieved A* in Chemistry, A* in Maths and A in Computer Science. At GCSE level I achieved 9 A* and 2 A including A* in all Sciences, Maths and Computer Science. When tutoring I like to focus on answering specific homework or exam practice questions to ensure that the tutee not only understands the context, but also the exam technique. There is also a large element of increasing confidence. When you are confident about the subject your are revising you are much more likely to take the information in. I especially appreciate the important of study habits and I will work with the tutee to identify any technique gaps and work to find suitable solutions to make even the hardest content available to anyone. In my personal life I spend a lot of time working closely with charities in the Non-Profit industry and as a result I have developed strong interpersonal skills as well as problem-solving and effective communication skills.
